CONWAY – McLeod Health will host a career fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 7 at Miller-Motte College, 2451 Highway 501 in Conway.

The career fair will feature a variety of career opportunities at McLeod Health.

National Library Week is April 3-9



MANNING — The Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., will celebrate National Library Week April 3-9.

If you happen to have an item late, this week is the time to return it. To celebrate National Library Week, the library will not collect fines on overdue items that are returned during the week.

Master gardeners will sell tomato seedlings on April 15

MANNING – Clarendon’s Master Gardeners will hold a tomato plant sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 15 at Land, Parker and Welch, 29 S. Mill St.

The sale will feature new varieties of tomato plants as well as several varieties of heirloom tomato plants.

A new variety of pepper plant may also be available.

Puddin’ Swamp Festival from April 7 to 9 in Turbeville



TURBEVILLE – The Puddin’ Swamp Festival will take center stage in Turbeville the weekend of April 7-9 with daily entertainment.

The festival will actually kick off a few days earlier in the month with the Miss Puddin’ Swamp Festival Beauty Pageant to be held on April 2. Applications can be sent to 6mclendons@gmail.com.

The popular Miss Swamp Bottom pageant, note the word beauty omitted, will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 9. Each vote for your favorite contestant is only $1 and all proceeds will benefit the Shriners.

The 1st Parade of the Puddin’ Swamp Festival will take place at 5:30 p.m. on April 8 on Main Street.

The Striped Bass Festival returns on April 29

CLARENDON COUNTY – The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is asking people to “save the date” for the 2022 Striped Bass Festival to be held April 19-30.

Rising seniors can apply for the Levi Pearson scholarship

The Levi Pearson Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for rising seniors in Clarendon, Sumter, Lee or Williamsburg counties. Applications can be obtained at https://bit.ly/37PrAg4. All information submitted must be postmarked by April 28.

The eligibility conditions are:

– Must be a resident of Clarendon, Sumter, Lee or Williamsburg county;

– Must be a senior (junior) amount in good standing;

– Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher;

– Must have applied or considered at least three colleges or universities; and

– Be an active member of a Christian congregation.

Vintage Camera Fair set for June 25

The Vintage Camera Fair indoor/outdoor event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the center located at 4 Main Street, Summerton.

The event will provide a unique opportunity for collectors, professionals and enthusiasts of vintage equipment, as well as local residents, to showcase their old and vintage cameras, lenses, collectibles, film, retro cameras, papers and images. .

Sellers must register by June 1.
