Genesis Health System improves emergency and convenient care


Genesis Health System optimizes better emergency and practical care services to increase capacity and improve the ability to providing patients with the right care, in the right place, at the right time. This campus initiative will help the health system better respond to the needs of its communities, while advance the delivery of specialized emergency care to patients with the urgent health care needs.

The global approach, designed on the basis of an in-depth study of local care needs, includes:
Establish an emergency department at the Bettendorf HealthPlex to provide additional services;

Moving from an emergency department to a hands-on care model in the West Campus in Davenport, reducing wait times and improving affordable access to the most used services at that location;

Continuing to improve our East Campus Emergency Department in Davenport to centralize resources and expertise to address our patients’ most complex healthcare needs Needs; and

Expand practical care services in Eldridge, Bettendorf and Silvis to better respond growing community needs.

All changes will be coordinated to avoid any disruption in high quality delivery patient care.

Strategic scaling and facility optimization is part of Genesis Health System’s goal of continue to strengthen operations and expand support capacities and resources the patients. This initiative builds on Genesis’ investment in a state-of-the-art medical center
Center Tower in Davenport, the successful development of the Davenport HealthPlex, adding more convenient care locations in West Davenport and continued progress to Silvis Medical Center.
Transition planning is underway. Genesis Health System begins construction this months and expects to perform full updates on all campuses in the fall of 2022.
These planned improvements will not only increase access and affordability of care and reduce wait times, but should also create near-term and future pipelines for and regional economic investment, growth and jobs.
