Mary Beth Seals has been named chief operating officer of Lincoln Health System, effective April 25, according to an announcement by Russ Spray, CEO of LHS, and Jeff Samz, CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System.
Earlier this year, Lincoln Health officials said they were pursuing plans to integrate into the Huntsville Hospital health system.
“We are thrilled to have Mary Beth return to her hometown and serve the community,” Spray said.
Seals returns to LHS from Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital where she most recently served as Associate Operations Officer. Seals began her healthcare career in 2009 at LHS as Marketing Director. In 2015, she became Director of Professional Outreach at Tennova Harton Hospital of Community Health Systems. When the hospital was acquired by Vanderbilt in 2021, she was named director of clinics and later associate operations officer. Seals graduated with an MBA in Management and Leadership in 2020 from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Spray said it was “an exciting time for LHS with plans to join the Huntsville Hospital Health System”.
“With the full support of our county commission, the proposal is moving forward. We hope to join the Huntsville system by July 1,” he said. “We know Mary Beth will be an asset during this process and will be a great liaison between LHS and the Huntsville management team.”
Seals will become president of Lincoln Health System in July following the scheduled completion of LHS’s transition to the Huntsville Hospital Health System.
Regarding her new role, Seals said, “This opportunity is a dream come true for me and an absolute blessing. I am so happy to be back at Lincoln Health System. Fayetteville is my home. This is where I was born, raised and raised my family. I look forward to helping our local hospital continue to grow and prosper as we move forward in our new relationship with Huntsville Hospital. I thank everyone who supported and prepared me for this remarkable journey. Please know that I am grateful and look forward to continuing to serve patients and the community here in Fayetteville and Lincoln County. For a moment like this!
“Mary Beth is a strong leader with extensive experience in business development, physician recruitment, medical practice management and team leadership,” Samz said. “We look forward to working with her to serve the community of Fayetteville and Lincoln County.”
